At hotSACKS, our mission is to create a line of affordable, re-usable bags that incorporate cutting edge fashion while respecting the environment, offering a solution to people who care about the Earth - but want to look good at the same.

The company was conceived in Victoria B.C. by Diana Nethercott, a professional photographer with an eye for design and a desire to help wean people off plastic. Following many prototypes cut and sewn at the kitchen table, the result was a bag that marries fashion with creative design.

“I strived to create a functional bag that also looks good,” says Nethercott. “I had little interest in carrying the bags offered by big retailers that lacked style and turned me into a walking billboard.”

Nethercott worked hard to find a green-certified manufacturer. As a result, hotSACKS have earned the right to use the EcoLogo, North America's most widely recognized and respected certification of environmental leadership. The EcoLogo assures the buyer that hotSACKS are an environmentally preferable - or green - product.

“In the last 10 years, I have personally saved about 5,000 disposable bags by using my own bags,” says Nethercott. “Imagine if we all used re-usable bags. Let’s get carried away helping the environment!”
